- Printable Paper Dolls or Puppets:
Almost every little girl loves paper dolls, and there are even several patterns that will allow children to color and decorate the clothing themselves. From designing the outfits, to cutting out the patterns, and playing with the finished product, this is one activity that will provide hours of fun. Paper popsicle stick or finger puppets are a similar alternative for those who don't enjoy playing with dolls.
- Word Challenges
Although word games can be played alone, they are always more fun with a little competition. Challenge everyone to see who can make the most words from “Vacation” or “Road Trip” or “Disney Land”. And, if you need to fill in a lot of time, you can play this game over and over again by simply changing the initial word. Word Scramble is also fun and some printable versions allow you to customize your game to fit a particular age group or theme. See who can unscramble the most words, or up the ante and make it a timed challenge. - Activity Book
Buy yourself some peace and quiet by making everyone their own activity book. Find printable crosswords, word searches, mazes, puzzles, hidden picture challenges, and matching games that are age appropriate and appealing to each child's interests.
